Dittany is a plant that produces an abundance of volatile oil. It is so flammable that a match near the plant can ignite the entire thing in hot and dry conditions. People in some regions of Siberia brew the plant as tea, while others use it to flavor liquors. In European folk medicine, Dittany is an antidote against poison, plague, and animal attacks.

This plant grows in warm, forested areas throughout Europe and Asia. The blooming tops are harvested in late summer and the roots are typically harvested in October.
