Red Clover

Trifolium pratense

Perennial herb that can reach 40 cm (16 in). possesses a hairy erect stem, three oblong leaflets (rarely four), each with a white crescent-shaped marking, and pinkish to violet egg-shaped Red clover is typically used in conjunction with other astringent herbs like burdock and yellow dock to cure skin issues. It has the ability to treat spasmodic coughs as well as an expectorant. Because of its high phytoestrogenic effect, red clover is being used to treat menopausal symptoms. The majority of the time, using red clover flower extracts instead of the isoflavones alone will be preferred.

Breast cancer has historically been treated using this plant. To stimulate the tumor to expand outward and evacuate the body, a potent decoction was given to the tumor's location.

Red clover is planted extensively for fodder and as a crop that fixes soil nitrogen content. It is native to Europe and Asia and has become inhabited in North America and Australia. When the flowerheads first bloom in the summer, they are harvested.
