Black Root

Leptandra virginica

Black root was used in moderation as a laxative, detoxifier, and treatment for liver diseases. It was known to the Native Americans of Delaware and Missouri as a severe purgative. Black root was used for liver disorders output in the 19th-century Physiomedicalist tradition.

In woodlands and meadows all over North America, black root flourishes. Autumn is when the root is discovered.
